On Tuesday, August 12, the City Manger will present the FY 2015 Proposed Budget to the City Council. As part of the proposed budget, the City Manger is recommending $3 million more for the libraries in next year’s budget, plus another $3 million the following year.
This is not the final budget as there is still time for council and citizen input before the budget is adopted in September.
While we are incredibly appreciative and grateful for the additional funding, we will continue to ask for more restoration. We feel very strongly that the library needs a $10 million overall increase to restore programs, technology, services and hours cut in 2008.
